Biography
Tyra Colar was born and raised in San Jose, California and is the youngest of three daughters. From a very early age, Tyra wanted to be an actress. She got her first agent in San Francisco when she was a teen. After high school, Tyra relocated to Southern California to attend California State University, Northridge. Tyra, aside from all of her other studies, was so eager to focus her time on acting, that she took an accelerated curriculum to receive a Bachelors degree early. After graduation, she relocated to New York City to study with some of the top theater companies. While in New York City, Tyra began making regular appearances on the CBS daytime soap, "Guiding Light" and did several guest appearances on the ABC soap "One Life To Live." With the recent cancellation of "Guiding Light" Tyra moved back to Los Angeles and recently appeared in an episode of "Cougar Town" with Courtney Cox and just booked a role in the feature film, "And They're Off" staring Sean Astin, Cheri Oteri and Martin Mull. Tyra continues to study acting and looks forward to a long and successful career. |
